We have been using the
OnGuard safety training package for a few years and have
found it
very helpful. The range
of tool/machine photos in the teacher section have been a
good
resource for students
developing their senior folios. The safety sheets for
machines have been
a very good addition to
our existing guidelines, and the matrix has informed the
development
of our own program.
We have been happy with
the OnGuard product.
I have integrated
OnGuard into the new Engineering Manufacturing course we
offer at school.
This doubles as
interacting with technology and students are able to print
off Certificates for
each machine we have to
offer.
We are very happy with
the product and information available.
A great resource for
students enabling them to work through at their own pace.
Immediate
feedback in the tests and a chance to repeat things as
needed is great. Also the
gathering of
appropriate certificates is good for students.
I like the handout
tests that can be copied and have been using it for the past
few years.
I have found it
difficult to get everything up and running online for our
students - maybe just my
lack of spare time. This will be on the to do list next year.
The OnGuard training
system has been useful - though having no idea of the online
service
and lack of computers
has hindered the operation in our school.
OnGuard is great -
saves teachers having to produce safety instructions and
tests.
A few glitches we had
to have ironed out but otherwise a great product.
I think it OnGuard is
great. The ACEPro recording process has been difficult to
get working at
our site. Maybe we
could link it to a password and user name on your server.

It's both simple to use and effective in the classroom.
OnGuard is quite

Overall it is an
excellent resource, however some of the content is not
applicable to all school
situations. Some
details or pictures of accidents to enforce that these do
happen may be of
benefit !!!
Overall a good product,
however, with the size of my school & access to computers we
very
rarely have access to
do the online tests. I did not know about the other new
updates. I
would be interested in
purchasing the blackline master product for school use in
2008.
OnGuard is fantastic. I
have used it in other schools so I convinced my current
school to
purchase it. However,
it is still not up and running yet due to some poor excuses
of our
admin staff. However,
from past experiences it is a very much needed services to
teachers.

It is an essential
teaching tool in my department.
Yes - it is a good way
to ensure that the students have had training in the use of
the tools
and equipment.
Overall
we like this product and use it regularly in our teaching
from textiles, wood tech and
food technology
lessons.
OnGuard is a good
product with a user friendly user face.
So
far the product has worked well. Many staff have commented
on its ease of use nature,
still a few bugs and a
bit clunky on setup but otherwise, it works well.
I have used the OnGuard
safety training program for some years now and while it is

our school, I feel there could be further improvements made.
The
OnGuard program itself has been great, however, the problems
we had initially with set
up etc was very
frustrating.
The measure of
OnGuard's success is the enthusiastic manner with which our
students
complete the units we
set for them. They derive great pleasure from receiving the
certificate
of completion to
include in their resume.
I have been satisfied
with the product to a point - there have been some problems
with some
listed safety tests not
being available.
Very happy with the
product since more recent improvements and we use most
aspects of it.
Issues of printing of
certificates seems to have largely been addressed.
We
like the concept of OnGuard Safety - however would like to
have the online record keeping
facility available to
help us with keeping our records up to date. Being able to
print is fine but I
think we are not using
the product to the best possible advantage.
OnGuard safety training
is an extremely valuable tool to have in our arsenal.
I
like the standardisation of the product along with it's
compliance with relevant standards.
At the senior school
level it is a valuable tool that enables self pace
direction at the same
time allowing staff to
be on the floor in practical classes.
OnGuard
is a valuable and time saving resource.
Great
product - still using weekly!
An ideal resource
for Safety training in D&T and associated areas. Easily
comprehended for
students.
I hope that with the
addition of some other pieces of machinery and/or tools it
can service our
instruction needs even
better!
Risk
assessments are very good- Its also important for Senior
students to access these.
Improvements are
excellent-keep up the good work.
